when i was younger, i used to play 'let's say...' all the time. like this: let's say i can live underwater. let's say i can smell colors with my skin. as i went on, that changed. let's say i can do work i don't hate. let's say i'll fall in love & it'll be good sometimes & other times not so good. what i didn't notice for a long time is that i moved from imagining my life simply for the joy of it to imagining a life that everyone else thought was possible. let's say i don't do that any more.
